What’s The True Meaning Of Christmas

The story of Christmas has a strong message of love.  At its core we see God’s love towards mankind and his commitment to mercy and redemption.  After the fall of man in the Garden of Eden (Genesis chapter 1-3) we learn how Adam and Eve rebelled against God and sinned against the Lord.  Their sin was pride and the repercussion was death.  It was God’s compassion for His creation that saw the enacted of the greatest act of Love; sacrifice.  That is why we celebrate Christmas; it was the day the Lord came down from heaven above, took human form and become the last sacrifice (Hebrews 10:4-14) to redeem us to the Father.

So when you celebrate Christmas today and when you gather with friends and family, remember the true meaning of Christmas.  Christmas isn’t about gifts, nicely decorated tree or shopping.  Rather, Christmas is the day when we celebrate our Lord Jesus Christ’s first coming and the salvation that was offered to us freely so that whoever accepts Jesus as Lord will be saved (Romans 10:9).  I pray this Christmas you focus on the Lord, give Him thanks for what He has done for us and if you haven’t known the Lord and would like to accept Him as Lord and Savior please pray this prayer:

“Father God I come in Jesus mighty name to thank you for your amazing love and grace.  We thank you Father God, Son and Holy Spirit for the redemption you have provided me through Jesus.  Jesus we pray in your mighty name to ask you for forgiveness me of sins and cleanse me as white as snow.  From this day forward, I accept you as Lord and Savior, and I pray that you come into my life.  I repent from all of my sins and ask for eternal salvation.  I pray this in Jesus Mighty Name.  AMEN”
